My professional qualifications include MS (Software Systems) from BITS- Pilani and Bachelors of Engineering (Electronics and Communication) from Bangalore University. I am also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI).

Close to 15 years, I have varied work experience spanning supply chain management, testing and development. I am presently working in the Quality Assurance department. I signed up for Certificate Program in Public Procurement (CPPP) as part of a management initiative to develop awareness about public procurement and related activities. Having been certified from APICS for Basic Supply Chain Management, I had a fair understanding of procurement related activities.

World Bank sponsored CPPP provided me with the right platform for obtaining know-how about public procurement operations in the public sector. This course also gave me a holistic view of all procurement related activities with a highly innovative tool to impart the course content. I enjoyed going through the course audio visuals and profoundly appreciate the content flow along with the pedagogy of the course.

The course nudges our way to right professionalism that has an impact on outcomes. I would recommend this course as “Mandatory” to all newbies in the field of public procurement.

My qualifications include Professional Diploma (Level 6) in Procurement and Supply from CIPS, UK (through BRAC University, Bangladesh) and M.Com. in Accounting from Dhaka University. Currently I am working as Procurement and Finance Working Group Consultant for Primary Education Development Program (PEDP) under Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Bangladesh. I have more than 12 years of experience in public procurement management activities including formulation of legal and working framework, bid processing, contract management and training activities.

I have been associated with public procurement activities for the last 18 years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to have worked in the field achieving competency through training and other relevant programs. A major area of good governance depends on the effective procurement system and practice. I am also a National Certified Procurement Trainer of the Bangladesh government. Throughout my career as a trainer I am engaged in disseminating the best practices of public procurement among the govt. officials of Bangladesh.

As a professional purchaser, I am interested to acquire knowledge and skill in public procurement. After coming to know about CPPP and going through its contents I became convinced that this course can provide me substantial concepts and knowledge of public procurement issues.

This course is very rich in terms of the materials and the presentation tools and techniques. The modules have been designed in well-articulated manner. It is of high standard in providing education on public procurement.

I am an Electronics and Communication Engineer. I worked for Bharat Electronics Limited, a prestigious Public Sector Enterprise, for 3.5 years as a Quality Control Engineer.

The Certificate Program in Public Procurement (CPPP) course was new to me, its structured flow and great content made the entire course really interesting. The best thing about the course is its simplicity and the way each and every concept is explained with relevant examples.

I am really thankful to The World Bank for providing an opportunity to impart learning on the important subject of Public Procurement.

I have completed my B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I joined Bharat Electronics Limited in 2012 and currently working as a Senior Engineer here.

Even though the entire course of CPPP was very new to me, the structured flow and relevant examples helped me a lot, growing keen interest in the subject and understand the underlying principles from very basic.

I, being a public servant, am very grateful to World Bank for providing me this opportunity to learn such a fresh subject in such smooth and convenient way.

My educational qualifications include BA BPSCM from University of Greenwich and CIPS Advanced Diploma in 2009. In addition to being a member of CIPS, I am also a member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS), a public procurement regulating body that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement in public bodies.

My Work experience includes Teaching Practice at Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce and I have also worked as Tutor in Purchasing and Supply, and Management Courses at ZAF Samora (Mbala). In addition to Lecturing on Purchasing and Supply, I have worked in various procurement roles like Sourcing of Suppliers of various Goods, Works and Services, Collecting and Analyzing Quotations, Supplier Appraising and Selection, Raising Purchase Orders etc.

I decided to do CPPP because it is specifically tailored to the requirements and needs of my profession as a public procurement officer. The program is so insightful and details the public procurement process. Most of my previous studies were general and lacked specifics of public procurement.

I would urge all those in the procurement profession to undertake this program.

I have two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Engineering (obtained at Constantza Maritime University) and another one in Economy (at ”Dimitrie Cantemir” Christian University, Bucharest), a Master’s Degree in Management of Maritime and Multimodal Transport and a specialisation in Public Procurement.

I have found a peculiar interest in procurement under World Bank projects mainly because of my experience as a procurement specialist for the last 6 years at the Politehnica University of Bucharest and in various European Union – funded projects (SOP HRD). As such, I have been involved in logistics and I have mainly carried out procurement of goods and services, including: procurement planning, bidding documents design, organizing bids, contract management, monitoring and reporting on procurement activities.

I consider that the Certificate Program in Public Procurement Course was a great way to better understand the procurement principles and methods, very well-structured, and focused on real issues to be addressed in the field.

Personally, I strongly believe that public procurement in Romania could only benefit from the procurement under World Bank mainly due to its global approach. And, as Romania’s efforts are towards globalization, in an EU context, procurement specialists, as well as others, should get more and more acquainted with World Bank regulations and keep up with lessons learned worldwide in this field. It might be a way to establish a balanced and ethics-driven procurement system in Romania. In order to see the expected benefits introduced by a national procurement strategy in my country, now it is important to improve the control systems which are expected to generate a better quality/price ratio for public contracts.

I am a business graduate having BBA & MBA degree from American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2010 & 2012 respectively. Presently I am serving Apollo Hospitals Dhaka for more than three years in Supply Chain Management Department and I am responsible for the balancing of supply chain of all indirect procurement here. I have more than 6 years of professional experience.

As a supply chain professional I have to learn and update myself with the changes in Supply chain management. “ProcurementLearning” web portal was the best experience in my learning journey.

ProcurementLearning web portal with the collaboration of World Bank has implemented a great initiative by which the learners can learn and gather sufficient knowledge about Public Procurement.

Gathering knowledge on Public Procurement will help to serve the Public sector and the country as a whole.
