I completed my Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi and went on to complete my Master’s in Public Policy & Sustainable Development from TERI University, New Delhi. My repertoire of qualifications includes achievements like a five week course in ‘Public Policy, Governance and Leadership’ at LBJ Institute of Public affairs, University of Texas, USA and a one week course in ‘Environment and Public Policy’ at School of Forestry and Environment studies, Yale University, Connecticut. I have also gone through one week courses on ‘Arbitration and Conciliation’ and Contract Management (respectively) at Railway Staff College, Vadodara.
I collectively have 28 years of professional experience in the field of procurement of goods and services while working on Indian Railways and RITES apart from in-depth knowledge of preparing various types of tender documents, evaluation of tenders, contract preparation, negotiation, and contract monitoring etc. Currently, I am the Group General Manager (Materials System Management), RITES Ltd. in Gurgaon.
My experience in the field of logistics and supply chain management is also complemented by a thorough working knowledge of World Bank, ADB, IDB Guidelines and procurement procedures. I am currently also empanelled as a Public Procurement Trainer/Consultant by World Bank, New Delhi. Additionally, I am also a qualified Lead auditor of NABET registered Quality Management System (ISO 9001 -2008).
Given the complexity in the procurement landscape, it is evident that capacity building and an informed, open discussion between stakeholders is of key importance. CPPP can be an important means to increase the reach of public procurement and bring professionalization and awareness.
