I have completed a B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur along with an MBA in Supply Chain Management (Gold Medalist) from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM). I also have a Masters in Business Laws (MBL) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore. Due to my deep interest in the field of Sustainable Public Procurement and Green Supply Chain, I have been in a continuous learning process and have also completed a Post Graduate diploma in Environmental law and a PG Diploma in Patents law from NLSIU and NALSAR, Hyderabad respectively.

I have about two years experience in engineering design, consultancy, and Project Management and eight years of experience in the field of Supply Chain Management comprising of Public procurement as a major component. I have undergone several training programs, the most prominent among them being the International Programme in Public Procurement for the World Bank aided Projects at Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.

In the present decade of tougher competition and increased consumer perceptiveness; it is the robust, agile, lean, and socially responsible supply chain with inherent risk adaptation and mitigation strategies that will stand the test of time. The role of Public Procurement is a major one as it guides the government policies that decide market allocation, consumer response, and commitment towards corporate social responsibility. The CPPP is a landmark program which focuses specifically on public procurement which is markedly different from private sector procurement.

There is a lack of public awareness on the impacts and importance of public procurement as a strategic driver for success in governments and public sector organizations. Also, the impact that public procurement has towards socially responsible and sustainable development has been underestimated for long. I firmly believe that awareness, education, and motivation will usher a new wave wherein public procurement professionals shall be given the importance they rightly deserve. I strongly stand for developing such awareness, imparting education, and motivating each and everyone involved in this field of Supply management. I feel the World Bank has taken distinctive measures to strategically place public procurement in government policy agenda, which was a well deserved but long awaited move.
