I began my academic journey with a B.A.L.L.B from Kanpur University and went on to complete an MBA from Annamalai University and PG Diploma in Materials Management from the Indian Institute of Materials Management. Subsequently, I have acquired certificates in Logistics Management and Public Procurement from the Indian Administrative Training Institute and The World Bank, respectively.

I have a family of four with my wife Latha, a homemaker, and Gaurav and Gautam who are in classes 6 and 9, respectively.

In total, I have 28 years of working experience which I began as a senior non-commissioned officer with the Indian Air Force. In this role, I administered store and office operations, apart from local procurement and stock provisioning activities. After completing 15 years on the job, I assumed my position at the Ministry of Defence in the Indian Government as a Group-A Gazetted Officer, looking after the procurement needs of all canteen stores, nationally. Subsequently, I assumed the role of Product Manager at the corporate office of the Ministry wherein my responsibilities additionally included inventory management, store operations, and price revision and negotiation activities. I am currently working as an Assistant General Manager in the Government department which looks after the daily procurement of goods for the Indian Armed forces clientele.

I continue to be a Life member of All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Materials Management, and Administrative Staff college of India and currently stand elected as the Deputy Registrar at IIT Mumbai.

Though I have been working in the area of public procurement for more than two decades now, I never had an opportunity to undergo a simple, structured, yet comprehensive course in Public Procurement which was fulfilled by the Certificate Program in Public Procurement followed by the Professional Diploma in Public Procurement courses.

Though Public procurement officials are responsible for spending thousands of crores worth of public money as a part of procuring goods and services, I strongly feel that we lack professionalism in the field. Many organizations merely go by the precedents without knowing theimplications of their actions even today. There is an inevitable need to impart training to all those concerned and the efforts of The World Bank and partner institutes in this direction are commendable.

I strongly recommend this course for all those who are in one way or the other associated with public procurement. The structured curriculum of this course is easy to grasp and you can attend it from within the comfort of your home. All individuals who complete this course stand to benefit professionally from it.
