I am a science graduate and have completed my Master of Business Administration from Jaipur National University, Jaipur in 2009. I have successfully completed the Certificate Program in Public Procurement (CPPP) and the Certificate Program in Contract Management (CPCM) on procurementlearning.org

Presently, I am working with the Mittal Group based at Kota, Rajasthan as Head-International Trade and Projects, handling procurement of raw material for metal recycling facilities based in India. I am also leading a project team for the establishment of green field projects for an expansion drive of the group. Prior to this assignment, I have worked with Exide Technologies Inc. USA, as an Incharge – Strategic Sourcing for a battery manufacturing facility based at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Apart from this, I have also worked with Gravita India Limited as Asst. Manager – Procurement handling International Procurement and Trading of Non ferrous Metals and raw material such as secondary metal scraps for three years.

I was looking for learning resources in the field of large scale purchase of plants and machineries for our upcoming new project. As the head of a project, it was a challenge for me to deliver value for the organization, keeping in mind long term impacts and buy the right kind of plants and machineries to comply with pre determined performance parameters and meeting tight budgetary constraints.

CPPP helped me understand basics to confront complexities in large scale procurement process and ethical issues related to procurement which I will try to implement in my professional practice.

Learning about public procurement process will help non-procurement professionals raise relevant questions about malpractices and corruption related issues in government services and seek remedies for any malpractices. In my opinion, CPPP is a must have for any person who has concerns about national development and corruption. This will open ways to tackle these problems in the most structured manner. I am grateful to Procurement learning and The World Bank to have come up with such a great concepts to spread awareness about procurement, which has always been treated as a second hand practice.
