I have completed my Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Water Resources Engineering form Malviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur in the year 1994 and 1997 respectively. Additionally, I have also completed a PG diploma in Finance Management from Symbiosis Centre for Distant Learning in 2008.
My career started in the year 1998 as an Assistant Engineer in Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan. Currently, I am working in the capacity of Executive Engineer. I have hands on experience in the area of procurement, execution of works, contract management, design, estimating, quality control & assurance etc.
Prior to this, I have not taken up any formal education in procurement. I have mostly learned procurement processes on the job and have been associated with World Bank funded projects. Currently, I am also a part of a Hydrology Project team. When I came to know that the World Bank Organization has started the MOOC on Procurement Planning, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to register for the course. This course is well structured, having suitable examples, activities, and exercises and I thoroughly enjoyed the duration of this course.
I strongly recommend that people who are associated with the process of procurement should opt for this course to hone their skills. Good procurement practices can lead to a lesser consumption of resources and savings in expenditure. Each one of us can contribute in environmental protection and economic growth through a better knowledge of such practices.
